Modern Slavery Statement
Haringey Carpet Cleaners Modern Slavery Statement
Haringey Carpet Cleaners is committed to conducting business in a responsible, transparent and ethical manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to promote fair working conditions for everyone who contributes to our services.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We have a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and child labour. This applies to our own operations, as well as to the suppliers and contractors we work with. We expect everyone associated with Haringey Carpet Cleaners to uphold the same high standards.
Modern slavery is a serious violation of fundamental human rights. We are committed to acting with integrity in all business dealings and to implementing and enforcing systems and controls that ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere within our sphere of influence.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Haringey Carpet Cleaners provides professional carpet and upholstery cleaning services. Our supply chains include providers of cleaning products and equipment, workwear, facilities services and other business support services. We seek to build long-term relationships with suppliers who share our values and are willing to work with us to improve labour and human rights standards.
We recognise that risks of modern slavery can arise at multiple points in a supply chain, including manufacturing, logistics and subcontracted services. We are therefore committed to understanding and addressing these risks in a structured and ongoing way.
Supplier Standards and Audit Process
We require our key suppliers and contractors to operate in line with our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery. We communicate our expectations clearly and may require suppliers to confirm that they comply with relevant labour, employment and human rights laws.
We conduct proportionate checks on suppliers based on the nature of the goods or services provided and the country or sector risk. This may include requesting evidence of policies and procedures, reviewing publicly available information and, where appropriate, carrying out audits or assessments.
Where we identify potential concerns, we engage directly with the supplier to understand the issue, agree corrective actions and monitor progress. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to remedy issues within an agreed timeframe, we reserve the right to review, suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Training, Awareness and Reporting Channels
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees and key contractors. Relevant staff are provided with information on how to recognise signs of exploitation, and how to respond if they have concerns about the treatment of workers in our operations or supply chains.
All employees are encouraged to report any suspicions or concerns about modern slavery, without fear of retaliation. Concerns can be raised in person with managers or senior leaders. We treat all reports seriously, investigate them promptly and sensitively, and take appropriate action where wrongdoing is identified.
We also expect our suppliers to provide safe and accessible channels for their workers to raise concerns and grievances, and to handle these in a fair and transparent manner.
Governance, Monitoring and Annual Review
Responsibility for implementing this Modern Slavery Statement rests with the management of Haringey Carpet Cleaners. We regularly review our internal processes and supplier relationships to identify areas where the risk of modern slavery may arise and where further controls may be required.
This statement is reviewed at least once each year to ensure it remains current, effective and aligned with legal obligations and good practice. As part of the annual review, we consider feedback from staff, suppliers and other stakeholders, as well as changes in legislation and industry guidance.
We are committed to continuous improvement and will update our policies, procedures and training as needed to strengthen our ability to prevent, detect and address modern slavery in all our activities.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Haringey Carpet Cleaners and reflects our ongoing commitment to ethical and responsible business conduct.
